Lightning Bolt Nails

This is one of those designs that looks waaaay harder than it actually is to do, so don't be worried! I love this manicure, I'll be wearing this one for quite a while.

Here's the supplies I used:

- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Mellow Yellow
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Black Out
- Top or clear coat

The first step is to paint black french tips on your index, middle and pinky fingers. Paint your thumb and ring fingers entirely yellow. I was experimenting here with my idea that it would be easier to put the black background over top of the yellow than trying to draw with the yellow over black (since I didn't use a striper polish). And it turned out to work very well.

Take your black and make one half of the lightning bolt. It helps to look at a picture of one as you do this.

Make the other half.

Now for the ring finger you do exactly the same thing. And you can decide if you want the bolt shooting from the left like the thumb, or opposite. I did from left to right on my left hand, and right to left on my right hand.

Just add a top coat, and you're done!

Stained Glass Pedicure

I did my sisters toes as well, when I did the last daisy nails design on her fingers, here it is:

Here's the supplies I used:

- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Mellow Yellow
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Blue Me Away!
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Virtual Violet
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Going Green
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Black Out

First, paint each small toe with each color (except black). The yellow one is kinda messy, I know, but I fixed it later.

Then, start painting triangles with each color on the big toe.

And the other two colors.

All that's left is to draw the black lines. If you need to, add more of the colors to even out the X. Then just add top coat and you're done!

Summer Daisy Nails

So I did this design on my sister's nails quite a while ago (in the summer) and it's fall now, but whatever, it's cute and fun to do!

Here's the supplies I used:

- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Mellow Yellow
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Sun Kissed
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, White On
- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear, Going Green
- Avon Nailwear Pro, Nude Gold
- Top & Base Coat/Clear polish

You'll also need a makeup sponge. I got a bag of 24 at the dollar store, they're cheap and a great tool for nail art.

So first, sponge on a layer of yellow polish all over your nails.

Next, sponge on some orange at the tips, trying to create a gradient effect.

And now, some gold polish in between the orange and yellow (sponge it on).

With a toothpick, take a white polish and draw daisies on your thumb and ring finger nails.

Add a green dot in the center of each daisy.

Put on a layer of sparkle polish, a top coat, and you're done!
